National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity

Through Stanford's institutional membership, all graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty have access to the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD), which provides professional development, training, and mentoring. NCFDD resources are broadly applicable across academic disciplines and include a range of topics such as time management, overcoming academic perfectionism, how to develop a daily writing plan, how to write grant proposals, and more. These resources offer concrete guidance that could increase your productivity and your sense of well-being.

How to Activate Your Stanford Sponsored Membership:

  1. Go to the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity website (http://www.facultydiversity.org/).
  2. Select the “Become a Member” tab and choose “Individual Membership”
  3. On the Individual Membership page, select “Join Now”
  4. On the “Select Your Member Type” page, select “Institutional Sub-Account”
  5.  On the “Select a Username” page, use your institution issued e-mail address in the Username box
  6. Complete the registration process

You will receive a welcome e-mail within 24 business hours confirming that your account is now active and you can begin fully using your new NCFDD membership.

NCFDD is led by its founder, Kerry Ann Rockquemore, who was a tenured professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago before leaving to focus her energy on the programs of the NCFDD.
