Nutrition at Stanford

Elaine MageeHealthy food isn’t going to do any one any good if no one is eating it—it HAS to taste great. That’s one of my healthy eating mottos. I am Elaine Magee, MPH, RD, the Wellness & Performance Nutritionist for R&DE Stanford Dining. Read more about Elaine from the Stanford Report

As a nutrition expert/writer with 25 years of experience I’ve got a lot more mottos and healthy eating advise to share with you. I am passionate about helping people reach a higher level of health not just for a couple of weeks but for a lifetime.

You can find me through R&DE Stanford Dining a few different ways: Have a burning question? You can email me at: nutritionist@stanford.edu.

You can follow my “food for thought” blog (where I will be posting nutrition nuggets specifically designed with the Stanford student in mind) on the R&DE Stanford Dining Facebook and Twitter pages.

I am thrilled to be part of the R&DE Stanford Dining team and I hope to meet up with you in person or electronically real soon.

My background
I have been a nutrition expert/writer for WebMD.com for 7 years and for a decade I wrote the syndicated column, THE RECIPE DOCTOR, where I performed hundreds of recipe “makeovers.” I am also the author of 25 books on nutrition and healthy cooking, with my most recent books being FOOD SYNERGY and TELL ME WHAT TO EAT IF I SUFFER FROM HEART DISEASE. Several of my books have been translated into 10 languages and are being distributed around the world.

Over the years I have been a college nutrition instructor, I have appeared on various local and national television and radio shows, and contributed to national magazines (including Cooking Light and Dance Spirit Magazine.) I have also consulted to supermarket chains, websites, dance programs, and more. I have been a registered dietitian for 25 years and hold a bachelor’s in nutrition science and a master’s in public health nutrition.
