Bio

Alla Kassianova joined CISAC in September 2013 as an associate researcher for the Lab-to-Lab book project documenting the 20 years of US-Russian collaboration in the nuclear sphere. She first came to Stanford in 2005-2006 when she was a humanities and international studies fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and the and Stanford Humanities Center. Before that, she taught in the International Relations program of Tomsk University, Russia and conducted research projects in Russia, Europe and North America. More recently, Alla worked for nonprofit and for-profit organizations facilitating business exchanges between the US and Eastern Europe.

Alla has focused her research on the interplay of identity and security politics and developments in the Russian defense sector.
