California legal history, the changing legal profession, and mass tort litigation

Bio

Molly Selvin is the Assistant Director of the Leadership Academy for Development at Stanford University. Until recently, she was Associate Dean for Interdisciplinary Programs at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. For 18 years prior to joining Southwestern, Dr. Selvin was a staff writer with the Los Angeles Times, serving as a member of the Editorial Board and a business reporter. Earlier, she spent 10 years as a social science analyst with the RAND Corporation and remains a faculty member with the Pardee RAND Graduate School where she served as Interim Dean during 2008. At Stanford, she is also a Research Fellow with the Center for the Legal Profession at the Law School. Selvin earned her Ph.D. in legal history from the University of California, San Diego and has been twice been awarded Fulbright senior scholar grants.
