Florence Moore renovation

Project Description

The Florence Moore renovation will affect approximately 39,688 gsf of the existing complex. The renovation of the residential areas will include: restroom and shower room renovations in the student and common areas to include required code upgrades; installation of no sight-line gender neutral shower and toilet partitions per R&DE standards; and conversion of common area restrooms to a single-use ADA compliant restroom/shower room on one floor of each building. The RF apartment renovations will bring these units in line with current R&DE standards for square footage and provide the same program elements in each unit to ensure equity and better support for community development.

The four student lounges will be upgraded using current technology to provide common-use spaces conducive to studying and learning within the complex. Upgrades in these lounges will include new furnishings, fixtures and finishes as well as the installation of smart boards and overhead projectors to assist students with educational projects.

The entire 13,263 square feet that comprise the kitchen and servery will be renovated in order to align the dining operations with current R&DE guidelines and to make the kitchen and servery more efficient from an operational, maintenance/sustainability, and programmatic support aspect.
