Fields of Interest

His research interests include economics of education, development economics, health economics, gender analysis, urbanization, and poverty reduction. He is particularly interested in evidence-based policy-making to reduce urban poverty, understanding the links between education, health, and economic growth, investigating factors explaining education and wage inequalities, and exploring household decision-making.

Biography

Moumié Maoulidi, EdM, MSc, PhD, is the Project Manager for SEDRI. Before joining SCID, he lectured at the University of Pennsylvania and served as an Associate Director for Research at The Earth Institute (EI), Columbia University. At EI, he supervised research activities related to the Millennium Development Goals and engaged in technical assistance, capacity building, and investment promotion in urban areas in Africa. He has also taught courses at Sciences-Po University and Columbia University. Prior to this, he worked at UNICEF and in the private sector. His research interests include economics of education, development economics, health economics, gender analysis, urbanization, and poverty reduction. He is particularly interested in evidence-based policy-making to reduce urban poverty, understanding the links between education, health, and economic growth, investigating factors explaining education and wage inequalities, and exploring household decision-making. He received his PhD. in Economics and Education from Columbia University, an EdM in International Education Development from Columbia University Teachers College, a MSc United Nations Studies from Long Island University, and a BA in Development Studies from Lewis and Clark College.
