Welcome to SIMES

Stanford University or SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory – where do you work?

SIMES is a joint institute of both Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Stanford University’s role is to foster the academic, research and educational environment required to support SIMES basic materials and energy research. Stanford is primarily responsible for appointing faculty and hiring staff, and supporting academic appointments to various departmental, research and administrative positions within the university structure. Similarly, as a US Department of Energy national laboratory, SLAC is expected to hire scientists, engineers and staff to build the scientific tools and conduct the research programs that fulfill the nation’s energy mission.
