Major Reporting Challenge Addressed
Over the years, Artisanal and Scale miners have posed a serious challenge for the reconciliation process. The LEITI Reconcilers have not been able to receive data independently from these miners, who are scattered across the country, mostly at inaccessible locations. Data from them have been received from the Ministry of Finance, often leading to unnecessary discrepancies in the reconciliation reports.
The recent workshops held in Gbarnga and Zwedru, central and south-eastern Liberia respectively, led to the formation of a structure through which this group can submit data directly to the LEITI Reconcilers. Snapshot of the LEITI Process
