Bioengineering/Chemical Engineering
The 210,000 gross square foot (gsf) BioE/ChE building will match the architectural character and appearance of the neighboring Y2E2, Huang, and Nano buildings. The building will be (nearly) identical to the footprint, massing and fenestration elements of the existing adjacent Y2E2 building. The new building will consist of three stories above grade and two basement levels below grade. The new building will connect to both the Y2E2 and Nano buildings at the first basement level. The BioE/ChE Building will be predominantly comprised of both wet and dry laboratory spaces designed for intensive research for each of the departments, as well as shared specialty labs available to faculty based in other campus facilities, support spaces, faculty offices, undergraduate teaching labs, classrooms, and conference spaces.
