Gifts of Art

The Cantor Arts Center collection includes some 30,000 works covering the history of art and a multitude of cultures. The core of the collection, on which the Center's programs are based, was provided by the university's founders, Jane and Leland Stanford. The Center continues to collect broadly to fulfill its mission as a teaching museum, and with limited funds for purchasing, welcomes gifts of art, which are crucial to building the collection.
