Clinton-Yeltsin summit to be discussed at public forum on Russia

STANFORD -- Experts on Russia will hold a roundtable discussion of "Russian Politics: After the Elections and the Summit" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, in the Wattis Room of the Littlefield Center on the Stanford campus.

The free public event is sponsored by the Stanford Center for Russian and East European Studies. The Littlefield Center is located at the end of Lasuen Street, the the Graduate School of Business.

Panelists, all of whom were in Moscow to observe the first free national elections in December, include:

• Alexander Dallin, Stanford professor of political science and history, and director of the Center for Russian and East European Studies.
• Gregory Freidin, Stanford professor of Slavic languages and literature.
• Gail Lapidus, professor of political science at the University of California - Berkeley.
• Michael McFaul, research associate at the Stanford Center for International Security and Arms Control.

The moderator will be Coit Blacker, deputy director of the Stanford Institute for International Studies.
