1) Participate in the 2014 Spring Promotion and you could win a vacation getaway and other prizes

Join the Commute Club or pledge part-time to be rewarded

Spring is a great time to experience a better commute! This spring, there are several ways we will reward you for choosing a sustainable commute or avoiding peak-commute times.

We would be glad to help you explore your alternative commute options. Request a free transit and/or bicycle commute plan with our do-it-yourself or custom commute planning service. You also could find a Stanford affiliate with whom to carpool or vanpool through our free ridematching service.

Visit our 2014 Spring Promotion page for more information and to participate! If you have questions or comments, please send an email to commuteclub@stanford.edu or call 650.736.9923.

2) Oak Road closes on April 14 as construction continues near the medical center

Welch Road partially reopens on April 15; Marguerite shuttle routes are adjusted

Oak Road will be closed to through traffic between Stock Farm Road and Welch Road from April 14 through June 13, 2014, due to utilities construction. Through traffic will be redirected to Stock Farm Road, Sand Hill Road, and Pasteur Drive.

On April 15, Welch Road will reopen between Pasteur Drive and Oak Road to enable vehicle access to Parking Structure 5 and the Stock Farm North Lot (L-18) using a portion of Oak Road near Welch Road. Welch Road will remain closed to through traffic between Pasteur Drive and Campus Drive until June 10, 2014.

A map of these changes is available on our Construction-Related Impacts page.

With these changes, the Marguerite Line C and Line V will no longer be rerouted via Sand Hill Road. Instead, these lines will travel between Stock Farm Road and Welch Road via Parking Structure 5 and L-18. Refer to the Marguerite road closures map for details.

For questions about Marguerite shuttle service, contact us at marguerite@stanford.edu. Please direct inquiries regarding parking impacts or bicycle detours to transportation@stanford.edu.

1 It is important for Parking & Transportation Services to communicate parking and alternative-transportation information to the campus. Under the 2000 General Use Permit (campus growth plan approved by Santa Clara County), the campus has a goal of "no net new peak-hour commute trips" over the life of the permit and must accommodate campus growth with a limited number of new parking spaces. Failure to achieve this goal will result in the university being faced with costly mitigation measures.
