The 2013 Caltrain Go Pass and VTA Eco Pass are available to eligible employees at selected on-campus and off-campus locations and at the Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS) office. Please note that the 2012 passes will not be valid after Dec. 31, and there is no grace period in January. Employees are encouraged to pick up their 2013 passes prior to riding Caltrain and/or VTA in January.

Most benefits-eligible university and hospital employees enjoy free transit on Caltrain with the Go Pass, and they ride for free on VTA buses, express buses (including Dumbarton Express), and light rail with the Eco Pass.

Eligible employees must bring their own university or hospital ID to request passes. Friends and colleagues are not permitted to pick up passes for others. The following are remaining pass distribution opportunities in December.

Please confirm that you are an eligible employee prior to requesting the passes.

The passes cannot be transferred to another person. Fraudulent use or transfer of these passes may result in confiscation, substantial fines, and revocation of transit pass privileges.

6) Need transportation or want to share the costs of travel over winter break?

Consider these sustainable transportation options to help you save

Whether you are going to the airport, traveling locally, or heading out of town, there are a number of sustainable transportation options that make winter travel easier for the Stanford community.

Take transit or a shuttle to the airport

Use Zimride at Stanford to share the ride (it’s free!)

Use Zimride at Stanford to find others at Stanford heading the same way. As a driver or passenger, you can use this service to share the costs of your trip or to help get you where you need to go.

Consider Enterprise Rent-A-Car on campus

The campus Enterprise Rent-A-Car office will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, and 31, and Jan. 1.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
1 It is important for Parking & Transportation Services to communicate parking and alternative-transportation information to the campus. Under the 2000 General Use Permit (campus growth plan approved by Santa Clara County), the campus has a goal of "no net new peak-hour commute trips" over the life of the permit and must accommodate campus growth with a limited number of new parking spaces. Failure to achieve this goal will result in the university being faced with costly mitigation measures.
