The Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (Stanford Seed) is a Stanford Graduate School of Business-led initiative intent on ending the cycle of poverty in developing economies.
Only Seed provides a combination of training, networking support, and coaching for established business leaders in developing economies; curriculum development and immersive programs for Stanford students to inspire them to become globally-engaged citizens and leaders; and funding for critical research related to issues of poverty that may culminate in more effective interventions in the future.
SEED RESEARCH
Seed's research goal is to advance general knowledge through the study of entrepreneurship; product and service innovations that serve the poor; and the growth of firms in developing economies.
SEED STUDENT PROGRAMS
Opportunities to support Seed's mission to alleviate poverty around the world are available to Stanford students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
VOLUNTEER WITH SEED
Seed volunteer coaches spend up to one year in Africa where they immerse themselves into the local business ecosystem and coach a portfolio of companies in general management.
