Opening on April 3rd, an exhibition of architectural models created by Stanford students in Intermediate Studio will be on display. Taught by Allison Williams in winter quarter 2014, the students' assignment was to design the future School of Architecture to be located on the Stanford campus, near the Panama Street and Via Ortega intersection. Curated by Veronica Stamats, a sophomore majoring in Architectural Design (AD), this exhibition features ten models, including her own. She says that last year’s model show inspired her to declare an AD major!
John Barton, head of the Architectural Design program, has contributed an opening panel with more details about this project. Each model includes the student’s name and a statement about their design. This exhibition marks the second time that student models have been shown outside of the Engineering Department, and we hope to make this an annual event.
The exhibit is on view from April 3 – April 18 in the Art & Architecture Library, 102 Cummings Art Building.
