Slide128-Year old male presenting with multiple comminuted and displaced fractures of the humerus, radius, and ulna. Volume Rendering (VR) technique can optimize visualization of various anatomic features . The image on the left uses very high transparency to mimic an x-ray appearance. The image on the right applies transparency for the soft tissue with an opaque bone surface. The arrow points to a radial head fracture better visualized with high opacity. Inset images demonstrate the complex color settings used in each image. 3D Technologists at Stanford uses these skills, tools, and knowledge to provide relevant, consistent, and timely image processing.
