Benjamin Tee has his background in electrical engineering, and did his PhD on wearable, flexible sensors, circuits and electronics at Stanford. His research work in flexible electronic sensor skins has been featured in various news media, including Discover Magazine, Science News, ABC news, BBC radio and National Geographic. He has won several prestigious international graduate research awards such as the TSMC Outstanding Research Gold and Academy Award, and the MRS Graduate Student Gold Award. during his PhD candidature. To date, he is a named co-inventor on five patents and he is deeply passionate about making an impact on healthcare through medical device innovations and commercialization. He believes in great design and completed the Design Thinking Bootcamp at the Stanford Hasso Plattner School of Design: a three-month long experiential learning program that teaches design principles. He is extremely comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team setting, and loves to learn and make stuff. Earlier this year, he took part in a team effort to create future autonomous vehicles, where he helped to develop a force-sensing car seat. His motto: Make Awesome.
