Stanford Biodesign Program
Stanford, CA
Originally from China, Cecilia came to Singapore in the year 2002 to pursue her bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering in NTU. She interned in WelchAllyn, in a leading R&D group for clinical diagnostic device design and innovation. In between her bachelor and PhD studies, she took a year off to explore her interest in business and customer care by working as personal banking associate in a local bank.
As a Nanyang PresidentÂ’s Graduate Scholar, Cecilia returned to school to pursue her PhD in Materials Engineering and Biotechnology under Duo-PhD program jointly held by NTU in Singapore and Technion in Israel, where she spent one year for her research. Her research focus is on cardiac tissue regeneration using patented porcine extracellular matrix and a self-designed bioreactor system, with hopes to one day help patients with myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases.
