Mini-Course Timeline

The following is the tenative timeline for development and submission of a new Mini-Course.

2015-2016 Academic Year
Monday, April 6th "Request for Proposals" and query interest in repeated mini-courses for Academic Year (2015-2016)
Monday, April 27th Proposals Due
May Mini-Course Directors notified of Awards
Friday, May 29th
  • All Course Information is due from mini-course directors (Title, descriptions, grading basis, units, preferred course schedule, time and days, room needs/special requests, instructors)
  • New Courses - Completion of New Course Grad Form (Signatures)
Monday, June 22nd PRIORITY DEADLINE: The webforms for all the above will close until the university reopens after all room scheduling is completed
July - August Notify Instructors of Room Confirmation
October Send out announcement of Winter Quarter Registration on Axess and Regis System (PDs)
October - January 2016
  • Follow-up on any course scheduling issues
  • Confirm Finance Departments has PTA accounts for each course

For all Mini-Courses

  • All courses are given the "BIOS" department/course designation. TECUS will still follow instructors
  • Courses take places in weeks 9, 10, and/or 11 of winter, spring, and summer quarter

Room scheduling

  • The process this year will be primarily an automated process and based on entry of specific information we make during course set-up
  • Priority for room is for:
    • Required courses in the M.D./Ph.D/Masters Curriculum, including placement and final exams and seminars
    • Required course in the scholarly concentration curriculum
    • Elective course in the M.D./Ph.D./Masters Curriculum, including final exams and seminars. (Mini Courses= 3rd Priority)
