"Save a Life" Blood Drive - Hosted by the Sharks Foundation

Join us for Stanford Blood Center's biggest blood drive of the year!

Time: 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Location: SAP Center/Shark Tank - North Concourse Entrance

Stanford Blood Center and the Sharks Foundation are teaming up once again to collect blood products for patients in need. Donate Life (organ donation) and the Be The Match program (marrow donation) will also be on hand to register interested donors.

Those making a donation will have the opportunity to watch the morning skate for the San Jose Sharks. Donors may attend the morning skate, which will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m., regardless of what time their appointment is scheduled. Additionally, donors will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win merchandise and autographed memorabilia (although the real winners are the patients in our local community).

Grand Prize: San Jose Sharks Tickets and Pre-Game Behind-the-Scenes Tour
You and a guest will be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of SAP Center prior to a future Sharks game. Following the tour, you will be escorted to ice-level for the unique opportunity to watch the team exit the locker room and skate through the Shark Head before the start of the game.

Register between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. or between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and you’ll be entered into a prize drawing for additional merchandise!

Please note:

  • This is a very popular blood drive, so wait times are common. Enjoy mingling with fellow fans while you save lives.

  • We are able to accommodate only one guest per donor or marrow/life registrant. All event attendees must be 16 or older to enter the SAP Center for this event. Thank you for understanding.

Donors must»

  • Be at least 16 years of age*;

  • Be free of cold and flu symptoms (allergies okay; as are most medications);

  • Eat before donating & drink plenty of fluids;

  • BRING PHOTO ID

  • Weigh at least 110 pounds for donors 19 or older (Donors under 19-see height/weight requirements on our eligibility page.)

* 16-year-olds must have parental consent to donate. Download the consent form here.

Unfortunately, you will be deferred»

  • If you stayed in the U.K. for a cumulative time of three months or more between 1980 and 1996;

  • If you spent five years or more since 1980 in specified European countries;

  • For one year if, within the last twelve months, you traveled to India or certain parts of Mexico, China, Africa, Central and South America, the Caribbean, or the Philippines.
