Lifeguard Certification
This course trains entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. Certification includes the American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Prerequisites:
15 years old (by the last day of class), ability to swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl and breaststroke, ability to surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object within one minute and 40 seconds, and tread water for two minutes without use of hands.
This course requires a minimum of 6 participants and attendance at all classes is mandatory.

Refund Policy:
You may cancel class participation 48 hours prior to the class beginning to receive a full refund. Canceling less than 48 hours without a doctor’s note will result in a no refund.
Parking:
Weekdays before 4pm is permit parking or metered parking only. A & C Parking permit parking is at Panama St. and Via Ortega (behind AOERC) in either the parking lot or parking structure. Metered parking is located in the parking structure at Panama and Via Ortega (Behind AOERC). Metered parking is $.25 for 10 minutes. Parking is free after 4:00pm Monday-Friday and free on the weekends.
