FREE Fitness Week Returns on Monday, December 7

Get ready to be fit for the holiday season with a variety of classes for our FREE Fitness Week brought to you by the Health Improvement Program & Stanford Recreation. Our FREE Fitness Week begins on Monday, December 7 and concludes on Friday, December 11. Bring a friend or two and try classes like TRX, Boot Camp, Pilates and more. Important Free Fitness Week reminders:

  • Bring your Stanford ID card to gain access to the facility.
  • Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • You may want to bring a towel and water bottle.
  • All classes on the court use mats, and there are no mats at the facility. Please bring your own yoga or exercise mat.

Class Descriptions:

Body Rock: This diverse cardio dance class will take you on a wild ride of dance styles. Ranging from Latin to Hip Hop, 80s Aerobics to Funk, Jazz to Contemporary and much more. Each class begins with a short rhythmic limbering warm up, including basic dance steps and then it’s time to get down!

Boot Camp: Take on boot camp for a a full body workout! Use body weight exercises and equipment to challenge your aerobic and anaerobic fitness and strength.

Burn & Build Boot Camp: This is 45-minute high-intensity class that alternates intervals of cardio and strength training in choreographed routines set to music. No equipment is needed. *Because of the high-intensity nature of the class, athletic shoes are required and it is strongly advised that you arrive promptly for the full warm up.*

Cross Training: A fun class with a variety of activities including cardio interval training, muscle conditioning and stretching.

Hip-Hop: A hip-hop dance- fitness workout utilizing high energy music! Learn some new moves, keep your heart rate up, and have some fun!

Pilates: This full body toning class is a fusion of ballet conditioning, strength training and Pilates core work. Emphasis is on targeted toning of those problem areas of the arms/shoulders, hips/seat/thighs, abs/back/core, and improving posture.

Total Body Workout: Challenge your body with a combination of cardio and strength movement patterns, high intensity intervals and Tabata training. This class is perfect for anyone trying to improve their fitness and health. Beginners can work at their own levels and intermediate and advanced students will be pushed to their limit by this full-body workout.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga: Vinyasa flow yoga focuses on connecting breath to movement, building heat, strength and flexibility.

Yoga: The class is designed to gradually introduce alignment to yoga postures as well as relaxation techniques, and serves as a transition to other yoga classes.

Zumba: Zumba® fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves. The cardio routines feature fast and slow rhythms.
