"How can words ever do justice to six

one's life? HCOP was just that to the
forty-five students that took part in
this amazing experience."

Expectations

Stanford Summer HCOP was designed to provide challenging and supportive premedical student achievement by balancing a rigorous academic curriculum with social and developmental support. Summer HCOP students are expected to approach this experience with a commitment toward scholarship and exploration. Participants will realize the greatest benefit by fully immersing themselves in scheduled academic and social activities during the program. Students who are selected must commit to the full six-week program, will be required to live on campus, and must not be involved in other summer activities (MCAT preparation, full-time/part-time employment, research). Participants must comply with all campus policies regarding conduct, academic honesty, and lawful behavior. Summer HCOP participants are expected to take advantage of premedical student programs, events and activities provided throughout the academic year. Upon completion of the program, participants are considered HCOP Scholars and are required to maintain contact with the HCOP program beyond the summer for the best use of continued academic and professional development as aspiring health professionals. HCOP is a full-time, immersive program. It is not suitable for students who need to work or take classes during the summer, are studying for the MCAT or participate in other activities that may compete with program expectations.
