Personal bio
Kevin Arrigo received his Bachelors degree in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan in 1983 and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Southern California in 1992. Kevin worked as an oceanographer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center from 1992 to 1999 before joining the Stanford faculty in 1999. Kevin has spent most of his professional research career studying polar marine ecosystems and has conducted research cruises in both the Antarctic and the Arctic. He teaches a number of oceanography-related courses that explore the relationship between humans and the marine environment. In 2011, Kevin was appointed the Gerhard Casper University Fellow in Undergraduate Education.
