Mary Duke Biddle Clinical Scholars Program
Mary Duke Biddle was born in 1887. She came from a philanthropic family and made many individual donations over the course of her life. She established the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation in 1956 to maintain financial support for many causes and organizations she believed in. In 2009, funds were donated to the Stanford School of Medicine to encourage the global health interests of trainees in pediatrics. To date, the program has sent up to 60 physicians and trainees overseas to provide clinical care to children most in need.
