C.J. Huang Building

Project Description

The new 31,000 gross square foot (gsf) building will replace a smaller, older building on the site, and will be named in recognition of C.J. Huang who provided the generous gift, which enabled the project to move ahead. The primary beneficiary of this naming gift is the Asian Liver Center (ALC), which is planned to occupy 6,000 gsf on the ground floor of the new building.

The adjacent 800 Welch Road site is home to the Freidenrich Center for Translational Research (FCTR), which focuses on translating basic discoveries to patient cures. Clinical research plays a key part in this translational process. SoM envisions the 780 Welch Road facility as a partner building to the FCTR, focusing on clinical research and promoting a strong sense of community between their building occupants.
