Outdoor Education Leading the Stanford Experience

The Outdoor Center is home to a full-service rental and retail facility, a lounge, an outdoor resource library, a trip planning area, a multimedia classroom and one of the largest collegiate climbing walls in the country.  We invite you to come rent gear, plan a trip, and improve your climbing skills. The lounge serves as a central meeting space for Stanford community members who are interested in outdoor adventures.  The Outdoor Center is located at the entrance of the new Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center at 285 Santa Teresa St, next to Roble field. Outdoor Center Closures

UPDATE 1/7/16: We had intended to re-open our doors on Wednesday, 1/6/16, AND then we thought we might be able to open on Monday, 1/11/16, but our big construction project* still isn’t done!  We can not rent gear or accept returns while construction is happening in the space.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!  Please stay tuned until further notice!

We WILL be open on Thursday, 1/14 from 11a-7p for lift ticket sales ONLY.  We will not be doing any rentals, or receiving any equipment returns, or selling merchandise from our store.  If you are looking for rental equipment, please try out our friends over at Sports Basement.

Did you rent gear over winter break? Don’t worry- we won’t charge you late fees while we are closed.  If you have any questions for us, please reach out via phone or e-mail! We are happy to help in any way we can.  

*what is the big construction project? SOE is excited to be getting two more stories of storage for our rental fleet, as well as amazing custom shelving on all 3 floors so we can stay organized!  We sincerely thank you for your patience during this time.
