Current Research Projects

The Stanford Patient Research Center is committed to research. It is our primary mission. Sound research must show that a program is effective, and therefore "evidence based", before we release it for organizations to adopt.

Building Better Caregivers (not recruiting)

We have completed enrollment for this study.. We are currently running a pilot research project of a community-based caregivers program in selected cities, funded by the Archstone Foundation. Partners are Dignity Health in Rancho Cordova, The Health Trust in San Jose, Parters in Care in Los Angeles, Aligning Forces for Quality in Eureka, and Fairhill Partners in Cleveland.. The 6-week, community-based program is based on the Building Better Caregivers online program. The pilot workshops have completed, and we are collecting follow up data at this time.

The National Diabetes Study (not recruiting)

We have completed enrollment for this study.. This project was funded by the National Council on Aging, in partnership with WellPoint, offered the Internet and the community-based Diabetes Self-Management Programs. The internet program was offered nationally and the community-based program was offered in the Indianapolis, Saint Louis and Atlanta areas, in partnership with OASIS and YMCA. The study will look at the dissemination and outcomes of the programs in the context of a large health care insurer. The study will conclude in 2017.
