Welcome to the home of Stanford's Online Accessibility Program (SOAP). If you are committed to assuring that online information is accessible to everyone, then you've come to the right place. If you're an administrator, content creator, designer, or developer, then this site is for you. Whether you are a faculty member, staff, or student, you'll learn why online accessibility matters and how you can make a difference.

Stanford's goal is to provide online content and applications that conform to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.0  AA. It will be valuable for you to familiarize yourself with the Guidelines  when you are able to, but if you want to get a sense of how you're doing right now, see the Basic Checks page.

Developers, designers, and content creators should visit the Tips and Tools pages. There, you'll find useful articles and information about tools and approaches you can incorporate into your current workflow.

SOAP is maintained by the Office of University Communications. We look forward to answering your questions about web accessibility. Your feedback will enable us to make the site most useful to you, so don't hesitate to contact us.
