Apple Visit!!

Some folks from Apple visited the lab on May 17th. It was exiting to talk about the applications of haptics with them. Who knows? Maybe we will see some haptic interfaces on the next iPhone??

Some of the lab’s former students that are working in Apple, such as Paul Nangeroni and John Morrell, also visited.

CS235 Draws to a Close

Reuben Brewer and Ken Salisbury have just completed the first offering of CS235: Applied Robot Design for Non-Robot-Designers, a course that teaches students how to design and build the mechanics of robots. Each of the nine student teams designed, constructed, and programmed their robot from scratch in three weeks. Five teams created chess-playing robots, and four teams created haptic devices that allow a user to feel real forces in a virtual world. See the project videos here!
