COEDME: Center of Excellence in Diversity in Medical Education

Stanford University School of Medicine Center of Excellence in Diversity in Medical Education (COEDME) is committed to increasing the number of underrepresented doctors and health care leaders, ensuring equal access to quality health care for America's increasingly diverse society. The COE offers programs that support underrepresented students over time -- from middle school through medical school and beyond. Our goal is to assist program participants in becoming culturally sensitive leaders in their communities as health care providers, educators, and researchers on minority health care issues.

APAMSA: Asian Pacific American Medical Studenet Association

APAMSA is the nation’s only organization specifically representing East and South Asian American medical students. Our mission is to bring together those who are interested in health issues that affect the Asian-American community so that we may have a strong, collective, public, and political voice. We are interested in directly promoting the health and well-being of the Asian community. Stanford’s APAMSA chapter organizes annual speaker events, provides free health services in the community, and brings speakers to campus about Asian health. WE also provide an important forum for APA students to meet, exchange information and experiences and development personally and professionally. For more information view our website.

LMSA: Latino Medical Students Association

We also promote diversity at the Medical School with celebrations of our culture and traditions. LSMA supports the personal and academic development of its members with opportunities for leadership, attendance at various professional conferences around the country, and a network of students with rich life experiences and fantastic ideas. The LSMA community welcomes all! For more information please visit our website.
