For more than 20 years, Shelly has successfully partnered with leaders in a wide range of markets and industries to navigate organizational change and growth challenges – and create breakthrough results. Frequently cited as a trusted advisor and thought partner, Shelly brings an exceptional aptitude for coupling team dynamics with business strategy. She has extensive management and consulting experience with global Fortune 500 companies, prominent universities, family owned businesses, national foundations and high-growth start-ups. Key areas of her practice include:

  • Strategic Planning, Visioning and Alignment. Shelly guides groups to sharpen and solidify a shared strategic direction together and build the leadership team capacity and muscle required for true collaborative performance. She mobilizes leadership teams to engage and align their people who make it happen - ensuring successful implementation of the strategic vision.

  • Leadership Development. Shelly supports and challenges leaders to develop new skills, mindsets, and the leadership capacity to achieve greater impact and lasting results. She designs and facilitates focused, experiential workshops, leads yearlong leadership development programs, and provides one-on-one coaching, drawing upon her extensive experience and studies in this area.

  • Succession Planning for FOBs. The unique nature of every family owned business requires a careful leadership transition from one generation or family member to the next. To insure a successful transition, Shelly works with the retiring family member, the business leadership team and the new leader to bridge the transition with transparency and intention, and to assure mutual goals are set and accomplished.

Shelly founded her consulting practice, Envision, in 2002 and serves clients such as Charles Schwab, Walmart e- Commerce, Autodesk, Novellus/Lam, U.C. Berkeley, Stanford University and Sandia National Laboratories. In the 80s, she helped build executive teams for many Silicon Valley startups that are now household names. At Charles Schwab in the 90s, she led workforce growth from 6,000 to 20,000 employees and helped launch two start-up businesses as Vice President of Human Resources. A lifelong learner, she continues to hone her craft as an adjunct faculty member at Stanford University for the popular Leadership Labs course.

A creative thinker, and highly analytical – she leverages both in her engagements. Her approach is based on a foundation of shared purpose – between the individuals involved, the team and the organization. She uses illustrative graphics, innovative experiential exercises, and a variety of assessment tools to foster trust, build collaboration, and strengthen team dynamics.

Shelly holds a B.A. in History and Philosophy from The Colorado College and a M.A. in Organization Development from Sonoma State University. A lover of big trees and open spaces, she spends her free time hiking, cycling and exploring the natural world. She divides her time between her home in Sonoma and her cabin in the Sierras, with her husband and daughter.
