Stanford Express is on track for arrival
There's an exciting change coming in how we purchase goods and services at Stanford. We've been working on a new purchasing platform that will make your buying experience both easier and more efficient.
You don't need a reservation. You don't need a ticket. You already have a space reserved on Stanford Express...Destination: The Open Marketplace.
What is Stanford Express? It's a new purchasing system for Stanford (replacing SmartMart), which integrates catalog and non-catalog requisitions and checkout into one convenient platform.
When does it arrive? Soon! (That's one reason it's called "Express.") Look for it to pull in sometime in early 2016.
How does one get on board? It's easy. Staff with purchasing activity over the past 18 months automatically will have access to Stanford Express, and they can start making and approving purchases on Day 1.
What's the final destination? The Stanford Express launch is the first part of a multi-phase project, with the ultimate goal of providing purchasers and approvers with a one-source, integrated shopping experience: an online open marketplace.
