AT&T DAS Citywide Wireless Communications Project

AT&T is proposing the installation of a city-wide Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for the purposes of improving wireless communications (voice and data) for its customers. The project is divided into four phases, with each phase having approximately 20 pole installations for the related neighborhood.

Following Council’s approval decision on Phase 1 (January 23, 2012), subsequent Architectural Review applications for DAS installations, following the same council approved prototype design, will be reviewed at staff level and be subject to public notice and Council appeal, but Architectural Review Board (ARB) public hearing would not be required. Neighbor notification would be provided and pubic comments reviewed by staff for each location. Actions by the Director of Community Environment on the applications will be posted on the City’s website and courtesy notices of the actions will be mailed to neighbors within 300 feet of each proposed pole installation.

Phase 1 - 20 DAS installations, approved by City Council January 23, 2012; Staff Report and Video.

Phase 2 - 15 DAS installations, approved by City Council November 5, 2012 on Consent (Staff Report).

Phase 3
- 20 DAS installations, application submitted March 29, 2012; approved by City Council January 28, 2013 on Consent (Staff Report).

Phase 4 - 20 DAS installations, application submitted June 29, 2012; approved by City Council January 28, 2013 on Consent (Staff Report).
