3445 Alma Street (Alma Plaza)

Project Status: Project Under Construction

Project Description:   Construction of the Alma Plaza Shopping Center (to be renamed Alma Village) continues, including a 20,000 square foot grocery store, and an additional 6,000 square feet of commercial space. The grocery store (Miki’s Farm Fresh Market) opened on November 1, however recently closed its doors due to lack of business.  The property owner has indicated that he is talking to other grocery firms about replacing Miki’s. Starbuck’s and Adient Physical Therapy, which are also located in this development, remain open for business. The fourteen (14) below-market rate (BMR) units above the grocery store are also complete and the application process for these homes began on April 1st. Most of the building permits for the thirty-seven (37) single family homes have been issued and model homes are complete and open for viewing.  A traffic signal has been installed at the main entrance to the shopping center. Planning approvals were completed in 2009.
