Bol Park Volunteer Opportunity

Project Description

The Bol Park Native Planting Enhancements Project is a joint venture between the City of Palo Alto and the Barron Park Neighborhood Association. This project is in response to the removal of trees as a result of the new construction adjacent to the pathway.

Volunteer Planting with Canopy

This planting will occur as a volunteer event with our local non-profit partner, Canopy and Acterra, on Saturday October 24th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. If you would like to be part of the volunteer planting event, please email Canopy at info@canopy.org.

Barron Park Association

The Barron Park Association has formed a Bike Path Committee, currently comprised of 11 community members, working with the City of Palo Alto and Veterans Hospital to restore and improve the native planting along the pathway. To date the committee has engaged in dialog with both the City and Veterans representatives, have reviewed and approved a planting enhancement plan, is promoting the Volunteer planting day for October 24 and is continuing to discussing further improvements. Planned Renovations 

  •  Reintroduce additional native trees and shrubs to the site.
  •  Improve vegetative screening along the Bol Park Pathway.
