DSHS Legislative Appropriations Request Stakeholder Meetings

The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) will hold public meetings on April 29, 2010 and May 4, 2010 to solicit input into the development of the agency’s 2012-2013 Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR).
The April 29 meeting will be held from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time in the DSHS boardroom located in the Moreton Building at 1100 W 49th Street in Austin.
The public meeting on May 4 will be held via videoconference from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time. The videoconference will be broadcast to sites around the state. Those sites are not confirmed and will be announced on this web site at a later date. |

Application Deadline for Physician Education Loan Repayment Program Extended
The application deadline for the Physician Education Loan Repayment Program has been extended from April 1 to June 15, 2010. The program provides loan repayment incentives to physicians providing services in specific areas. Additional information on the program can be found on the Texas Primary Care Office web site. |

Budget Reduction Options
Texas health and human services agencies have submitted their response to the January 15, 2010, request from state leadership to identify possible savings in agencies’ FY2010-2011 budgets.
