Hazard Communication & Lockout/Tagout Safety
Bristol, CT
This course is designed for all water and wastewater operators. The course will cover two important safety issues, Hazard Communication and Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO). The first portion of the course will focus on helping attendees develop an effective Hazard Communication Program. It will review the hazards and identities of the chemicals to which operators are exposed as well as the necessary protective measures to prevent illness and injury. The second potion of the course will address LO/TO. When it's time for maintenance, repair or retooling of a machine, simply turning the machine off or unplugging it while it is being worked on does not give enough protection for workers. This section of the course will review OSHA regulations and help attendees with an effective written LO/TO program from beginning to end. If you are new to LO/TO this class will give you the basic you need to know to get your program running, and for those who are familiar with LO/TO the class will serve as a valuable review. For more information, contact the Atlantic States Rural Water & Wastewater Association at (860) 889-6373 or visit http://www.asrwwa.org/training/sessions.shtml.
