STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Amber Orrange earned Associated Press All-America honorable mention honors in voting announced by the organization on Tuesday.

It’s the latest in a laundry list of accolades for Orrange, who was on watch lists for the Naismith Trophy (Atlanta Tip-Off Club), Wade Trophy (WBCA), Wooden Award (Los Angeles Athletic Club), Nancy Lieberman Award and Dawn Staley Award at one point or another this season.

Last week, Orrange was named one of five Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region VIII honorees and is now in consideration for 2015 WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America Team. The Houston, Texas native, who finished her academic work at Stanford in science, technology and society a quarter early with the completion of finals two weeks ago, is also a Senior CLASS Award® Finalist.

She finished her career in 2014-15 averaging career bests in points (13.3) and rebounds (4.0). Orrange is one of just five Stanford players with 1,000 career points and 500 assists, joining Jennifer Azzi, Sonja Henning, Jeanette Pohlen and Nicole Powell.

Her 1,426 career points rank 20th all-time at Stanford and her 552 assists are seventh. She is one of just seven Cardinal to reach the 500-assist plateau, joining Sonja Henning (757), Jennifer Azzi (751), Milena Flores (644), Jamila Wideman (585), Nicole Powell (577) and Jeanette Pohlen (560).

A consistent performer through her career at Stanford, Orrange is also fifth in school history in games played (146) and fourth in minutes (4,200).

The Cardinal has had representation among the AP’s All-Americans every year since 2001-02 (first, second, third-team or honorable mention). Orrange is the 12th Stanford player to receive recognition from the Associated Press for her play, joining Chiney Ogwumike, Nnemkadi Ogwumike, Jeanette Pohlen, Kayla Pedersen, Jayne Appel, Candice Wiggins, Brooke Smith, Nicole Powell, Lindsey Yamasaki, Kristin Folkl and Kate Starbird.

On March 3, she was selected as both an All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Defensive performer. It was her third time playing her way onto the 15-member All-Pac-12 Team and she is now among 13 Stanford greats to have appeared on that squad in at least three seasons on The Farm.

Orrange, who was named Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention as a junior, moved up to the six-member Pac-12 All-Defensive Team this season after leading Stanford in steals for the third consecutive campaign. She’s the first Cardinal guard to make the full Pac-12 All-Defensive Team since Rosalyn Gold-Onwude in 2010.

Stanford finished its season 26-10 overall and 13-5 in Pac-12 play. The Cardinal advanced to its eighth consecutive Sweet 16 and also claimed the program’s 11th Pac-12 Tournament title in 14 years.
