ATLANTA, Ga. – Abrahm DeVine backed up his All-America performance in the 200 individual medley with another All-America selection in the 400 individual medley on Friday night at the NCAA Championships.

“Abe has already had a great meet and perhaps can surprise us by scoring in the 200-yard butterfly tomorrow,” said Goldman Family Director of Men's Swimming Ted Knapp. “Tomorrow we have the most potential of the three days; we definitely need to get it done in the morning.”

DeVine (3:42.02) swam 3:40.06 in prelims, earning him the fifth seed in the A-final. The freshman from Seattle, Washington, backed it up with another strong time, earning valuable points for the Cardinal.  



Curtis Ogren (3:42.85) also earned a second swim in the 400 IM, finishing fifth in the B-final and 13th overall. Ogren was named All-America honorable mention, the first All-America selection of his career.

Andrew Liang (46.79) and Jimmy Yoder (47.21) competed in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing 27th and 39th, respectively.

Gray Umbach (1:35.36) finished 28th in the 200-yard freestyle, while Matt Anderson (53.84) finished 35th in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Ryan Dudzinski (46.74) and Ryan Arata (47.19) participated in the 100-yard backstroke, taking 25th and 29th, respectively.

Dudzinski, Anderson, Liang and Sam Perry (1:25.58) finished 15th in the 200-yard medley relay, the final event of the day, earning All-America honorable mention.



The Cardinal also had three divers participating in the 3-meter. Connor Kuremsky (349.90) finished 27th, Bradley Christensen (336.10) was 33rd and Tarek Abdelghany (319.35) took 40th.

Stanford (78.5 points) sits in 14th place behind Indiana (113.5), Auburn (111) and USC (83) and ahead of Ohio State (66) and Arizona (52). Texas (366) leads the team competition ahead of Cal (271) and Florida (255).

Stanford returns to action tomorrow for the final day of the NCAA Championship. Tomorrow's events include the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, Platform diving and 400-yard freestyle relay. Prelims will begin at 7 a.m. PT, followed by the 1,650-yard freestyle at 12:56 p.m. The final evening session of the meet will start at 3 p.m.
