Garnett L. Keith is chair and chief executive officer of SeaBridge Investment Advisors, LLC. From 1984 to 1996, he served as the vice chairman and chief investment officer of the Prudential Insurance Company of America, supervising the company's global investment activities, comprising roughly $250 billion at year-end 1995.
Keith serves as the chairman of HHMI's Finance Committee, overseeing its investment programs. He is also chairman of Whitecap Capital Company, a private investment company. Keith was elected a trustee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 1996.
