Stephen Langlois

Biography: 

Stephen Langlois is a Research Fellow and Senior Associate Director for Finance and Operations at the Hoover Institution.

As Senior Associate Director, Langlois has oversight responsibility for budget, finance and administration of the Institution. Langlois was first appointed as Associate Director for Budget and Finance in 2002, and at various times has had responsibility for Research Administration, Communications, Library and Archives, the Hoover Press, Facilities, Scholarly Events, and IT.

Langlois has been a Research Fellow since 1990. His research interests include health policy, entitlements, and social welfare policy. Having studied economics and statistics at Stanford and the University of Western Ontario, Langlois has expertise in health economics, econometrics, and survey methodology. His most recent research focuses on the demand for publicly-financed health insurance and an assessment of the effect of changes in the eligibility for social welfare programs on program goals.

Langlois holds a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford.
