Brian and I are leaving today for Switzerland. We are going to hang out in a castle and snowboard by day in the Swiss Alps and boogie at night to some of Europe's best DJs. We will be gone for just under two weeks. A lot of your contributions will still get prompt attention thanks to our dedicated group of Approvers. Plus Jim promised to kick it up a notch and spend a lot more time working on Moby. Hopefully I don't break an arm this time. We will check in from time to time. Now I gotta go pack.

It's February and we are looking for articles. Our goal is to publish a new, interesting and thought provoking article each month. Well we are slightly off the pace. Last year we did seven roughly even spaced through out the year. This year we've been heads down with new features and hardware upgrade we haven't had a lot of time to think about a featured article. Do you have something to say? Write something up and send it to [email protected].

We helped Rusel de Maria out with a bunch of classic box cover art for his book High Score!: The Illustrated History of Electronic Games. MobyGames is supposed to get a nice acknowledgment. Check it out when it is published in March.

The hardware upgrade today went well. Brian and I spent all weekend in the datacenter installing new machines for the database and web servers. We finished with 10 minutes to spare before I had to leave for the airport. Pages should load faster and we are less likely to get bogged down when Google and Ask Jeeves spider the site. Downtime was kept to a minimum. We were down for less than a half hour today when we switched to the faster database and less than a few minutes yesterday when we installed a new switch. MobyGames is about to go on it's fourth year and we are averaging a major hardware upgrade every twelve months. Believe it or not we hope this trend continues.
