This Week's Featured Product is Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are tubers of the morning glory family and one of America's native vegetables. The term 'sweet potato' encompasses more than 400 varieties, inlcuding the common white-fleshed tubers and the moister orange-fleshed varieties more commonly known as yams. The skins of sweet potatoes may be yellow, orange, red, or purple, and their taste and texture may be either firm and dry or soft and moist. Their bright flesh not only adds color to your meal, but also is indicative of a host of vitamins, minerals, and healthful antioxidants. Use them as you would potatoes ? baked, mashed, or roasted ? and paired with spices like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, curry, cumin, or thyme.

You can purchase sweet potatoes from Yia Moua Farm or another of the local farmers selling sweet potatoes.
