BRIEF: Cardinal teams honored for academic progress

The NCAA honored nine Stanford athletic programs yesterday for their Academic Progress Rates (APR). Stanford’s baseball, football, men’s golf, men’s tennis, men’s water polo, women’s cross country, women’s gymnastics, women’s indoor track and women’s outdoor track teams all placed in the top 10 percent of all teams in their respective sports over a four-year period beginning in 2006-07.

APR tracks scholarship players’ progress each semester by looking at metrics such as graduation, eligibility and retention.

Full APR scores are scheduled to be released on May 24.
