Veteran's Day Message

Welcome Message

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiative (CFOI) is an office located in the Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs (OPIA).  The CFOI was initially established on June 1, 2004 by Executive Order 13342 and most recently re-established on May 3, 2018 by Executive Order 13831.

Our Center for Faith participates in numerous outreach events nationwide to partner with organizations that serve our nation’s Veterans. During partnership events, we bring a broad spectrum of VA resources and information through breakout sessions that include Veteran E-Benefits, survivors assistance, Veteran homelessness, opioid epidemic, and suicide prevention training by a trained VA Suicide Prevention Coordinator (SPC). We need your organizations assistance to reach the 24.4 million Veterans across the country by partnering with us to host an event, through volunteering, coordinating clergy specific suicide prevention training, or learning how to establish a Veterans welcome center/ministry.

Reach out to us to develop a partnership at VACFOI@va.gov. VA CFOI wants to hear about all the good work and stories your organization is doing in the community to support Veterans and their families. Additionally, we welcome the opportunity for your organization to be featured on our webpage. Also, please subscribe to our webpage to start receiving VA CFOI News and Updates.

Respectfully,

Conrad Washington
Director
VA Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiative (CFOI)
