1 March 2017 | Geneva -- The co-circulation of two arboviral diseases (dengue, chikungunya virus in late 2013 and Zika virus in 2014) poses a new challenge for public health in the Americas.

The three diseases can produce similar clinical symptoms, mainly during the acute phase (the first days of the disease), hindering clinical diagnosis and creating problems for appropriate case management, and sometimes triggering fatal events.

3 February 2017 | Geneva –– The 140th session of the WHO Executive Board has requested the World Health Assembly for a resolution on a comprehensive approach to global vector control.
It follows a review of a draft Global Vector Control Response (GVCR) 2017–2030 on 28 January. The GVCR aims to provide strategic guidance to countries to preventing diseases and responding to outbreaks.
