Budapest Water Summit: Giving future a sustainable chance

From 8 to 11 October 2013 the World Water Council co-organized with the Hungarian government and the UN System the 2013 Budapest Water Summit under the theme "The role of water and sanitation in the world's agenda for sustainable development." The Summit Statement formulates concrete recommendations to implement the post-2015 Development Program and guide the Sustainable Development Goals towards the field of water.

The dates of the 7th World Water Forum were officially announced this Wednesday. The 7th Edition of the world’s largest water event is expected to gather over 30,000 people from multi-stakeholder backgrounds for 6 days of high-quality sessions, intense debates and informative workshops.

The event, with the objective of having water considered in the SDG’s post 2015, was hosted by the Governments of Colombia, the Netherlands and Switzerland together with UNSGAB and the World Water Council, and with the participation of UN-Water.
