COP 22 - ICAT: Stabilizing NDCs Through Tools and Support to Assess the Impacts of Climate Actions

This session will explore the initiative and tools under development by the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT).

WRI is one of three implementing partners in the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT). ICAT is building a suite of tools under which countries can effectively measure, report and verify the impacts of their climate policies and actions. This common framework of tools allows countries to compare their results with others using the same tools and to more readily fulfill domestic and UNFCCC reporting needs.

The Initiative is also working to improve in-country MRV systems and ensure sustained improvements of national administrative, legislative and institutional transparency infrastructure by partnering with organisations and stakeholders across diverse networks, including the private sector, academia, and civil society.

This session will explore the initiative and tools under development, as well as opportunities being explored for cross-sector and between-country collaboration to improve monitoring, verification, and reporting. The event will focus on partnerships and country partner perspectives.
