Senior Project Associate - Urban Transport, WRI India Sustainable Cities

Bio

Dhawal is an Associate - Urban Transport at EMBARQ India. He is based in Mumbai and working in the area of Road Safety. He is currently working with municipal corporations in Rajkot and Surat to ensure safe movement of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. He is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting timely Road Safety Audit on BRT corridors and ensure execution of the proposed recommendations. He is also working with traffic police officials in Mumbai and Gurgaon towards improving the road accident database and analysis system. He is also actively involved in road and junction design incorporating principles of safety.

Dhawal has 4 years of experience working as a transportation planner/engineer. Prior to joining EMBARQ India, he was working as a Transportation Engineer with TATA Consulting Engineers, where he was responsible for activities ranging from transportation planning to the detailed design of road in Greenfield development projects.

He has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Mumbai University, India and a Masters in Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic and State University, Virginia, USA with a specialization in Transportation Planning.
